Innovating from within: the story of the entrepreneur who now drives others

In many large companies, innovation is still seen as something external, linked to technology, startups or large consulting firms. But it's becoming increasingly clear that a crucial part of change is born within. In particular, from people who know the business, who live on a daily basis and who decide to act to transform it.
To talk about Intrapurrecy real, who is born within organizations and transforms from everyday life, we wanted to have the voice of Alberto Faya, entrepreneur and mentor of the Santalucía Impulsa Empleados program, who has experienced the innovation process firsthand from within.
His experience and his subsequent move to an innovation mentor make him an inspiring example of how internal talent can generate real impact when activated, supported and connected to a shared vision of the future.
How would you describe your experience as an entrepreneur in a single sentence?
Participating in Santalucía Impulsa as an entrepreneur has been like looking at the future of insurance from the inside, with the conviction that its evolution begins with those who live it every day. It has allowed me to connect with people with a lot of talent, commitment and different visions to transform what seemed immovable.
Why do you think that entrepreneurship is an opportunity for Santalucía's employees?
It is an opportunity because it turns employees into protagonists of change, allowing us to provide value beyond our usual role, collaborate with diverse profiles and shape real solutions that respond to the challenges of the sector. It is a space where talent is activated, creativity is professionalized and innovation becomes a tool for shared evolution.
And what would you say to someone who feels that innovating from their position is not for them?
I would tell him not to have doubts or fears. It's not taking a leap into the void, but opening a door to new ways of growing, learning and connecting with people who also believe that change starts from within. Santalucía Impulsa Empleados not only transforms ideas, it transforms those who dare to promote them.

Transformation, indeed, is not just about projects. It's also about people. In Alberto's journey, this has even resulted in a new role: that of mentor.
You are the first entrepreneur to become a mentor. What learning has that change left you?
The greatest learning has been discovering that accompanying others on their path of innovation is even more transformative than following your own. As a mentor, I've learned to listen more intensely, to trust the talent of others, and to celebrate every small breakthrough as if it were my own. Because when you share the journey, you also grow with each step others take.
Santalucía Impulses Employees was born with the vocation of offering the group's professionals a real space to propose, develop and promote ideas based on in-depth knowledge of the business. But also, and perhaps more importantly, as a way to activate the individual and collective purpose of those who believe that innovation is a way of being closer to the customer, more aligned with the present and more prepared for the future.
As Alberto's case shows, change doesn't start only in processes. It starts with the people who decide to act.
